On February 1, 2011, Robert Alber takes over the management of Planatol Adhesive GmbH
After a successful 2010, Planatol Adhesive GmbH, a subsidiary of the Planatol Group based in Rohrdorf near Rosenheim, Germany, is continuing to expand with a changeover in managing director and an increase in sales staff. As one of the leading suppliers of adhesives for the graphic arts industry, the company is therefore preparing itself for new projects.
On February 1, 2011, Robert Alber became managing director of Planatol Adhesive GmbH. On January 1, 2011, Helge Schönfeld joined the company as new head of sales, and Hubertus Wesemann and Lutz Meyer, two new sales representatives, joined the sales team.
Mr Alber, 40, has a degree in business and cultural studies and has an extensive background in international management and sales. He was previously the managing director at Skyanide Chemicals GmbH, which is based in Prien at Lake Chiemsee. His aim is to continue to strengthen the Planatol Adhesive GmbH core business segments, and he is particularly interested in pursuing expansion into new business segments.
Mr Schönfeld previously worked as Self Adhesives Corporate Market Field Manager at Sika AG prior to joining Planatol. Mr Schönfeld, 44, has a chemical engineering degree and several years of experience in different areas of adhesive application. He will work on further expanding the technical adhesive expertise within the Planatol sales team.
Mr Wesemann supports Planatol particularly in the area of construction adhesives. He has also worked in the adhesives industry for several years already and possesses the ideal qualifications for this job.
By hiring Mr Meyer, Planatol has gained an expert in graphic arts applications for Eastern Europe who will be in charge of Planatol sales activities in Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Planatol's core expertise is in high-quality adhesives for the graphic arts, particularly in the areas of bookbinding and fold-gluing in rotary printing, combined with a skilled customer support service staff. Planatol Adhesive is using its innovative products to increase its expansion into other areas, such as the packaging, automotive, timber, furniture, and construction industries.
"I am looking forward to the new challenge ahead of me at Planatol Adhesive. The company is traditionally a specialist in bonding paper with other materials, but has already branched out into several other areas as well. By providing the best customer support, a wide range of products with all types of adhesives and custom solutions that even include niche applications, we are distinguishing ourselves as the market and technology leader in this field. At the same time, we are not ignoring our individual customers and their needs. Instead, we are able to assist our customers in maintaining their position in an increasingly challenging, competitive market by providing quality and innovation," says Mr Alber, the new Planatol Adhesive GmbH managing director.
